Mercedes Benz has finally unveiled its all-electric SUV EQS in the global market. The new luxury flagship model in the EV line of the German automaker is all set to rival the likes of the Audi e-Tron and BMW iX. The all-electric SUV is likely to go on sale in the international market sometime later this year. Furthermore, we can expect the vehicle to land on our shores sometime next year.

The new Mercedes Benz EQS will be offered in a total of two variants namely EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4Matic. Performance-wise, the base trim EQS 450+ gets a single electric motor that further powers the rear axle and generates 355 bhp power and 568 Nm peak torque. The top-end variant EQS 580 4Matic, on the other hand, comes with dual-electric motors, one on each axle, thereby producing a combined output of 536 bhp power and 858 Nm peak torque.

Talking about the charging options, the EQS SUV can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 31 minutes with the help of a DC fast charger. Furthermore, the all-electric SUV can achieve a maximum range of around 600 km (WLTP cycle) as per Mercedes.

Dimensionally, the all-electric SUV stands at 5125mm in length, 1959mm in width, and 1718mm in height. Design-wise, the Mercedes EQS features a black-panel grille upfront. In addition, it gets angular LED headlights, a horizontal LED light bar for the taillights at the rear, large aerodynamically alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, a roof-integrated rear spoiler, a side-step, and many more.

The cabin of the all-electric Mercedes EQS SUV comes equipped with a plethora of features. These include Mercedes’ MBUX Hyperscreen which further integrates three displays - a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 17.7-inch central infotainment, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen. Furthermore, the MBUX operating system supports conversational speech commands via a ‘Hey Mercedes’ prompt. It can also receive over-the-air software updates. Besides that, you even get a head-up display with augmented reality navigation as an option. The other feature highlights include ventilated & heated seats, 195 litres of luggage space, a rear-seat entertainment system with removable 116-inch touchscreen control, and a fingerprint scanner to easily customize the setting of each seat.
